Blog has pretty much not seen ANY activity from readers since the beginning. I will obviously keep it up, but I may pursue a different blog idea. I'm hoping to get some kind of active community going that revolves around a blog, something like Chris Pirillo's blog and other blog-style things, or just like a popular blogger.
Any suggestions?
Also, to test if anyone is TRULY reading this, please post a reply saying something like "Hi". Who knows, maybe someone will say something. :P

What's going on in Sandbox?
A rise in Sandbox clans, yet a large loss of sandbox servers and communities.
Sorry if this sounds like a news report, I'm watching Canadian news and writing this on a laptop.
Anyways. A while ago, it appeared that a few of the larger, more influential communities simply died on us. It seemed like a lapse in government, mainly. They permit less as mature users to rise up, they allow the option of new players to come admins with the donation of a couple of dollars. Now, you may think I'm saying negative things because I'm a SbxA kind of guy. No, I respect all communities in Sandbox, I have simply observed that the more open and public ones are vulnerable to the more dangerous temporary members who may stick around for a bit and then leave with a "bang" shall we say. A perfect example of one of these "bangs" was the Missleboy community site for a few months. There was a distorted photo of a cat reading a magazine on a kitchen table. That's not good.
Communities need government and observation from the administration to stay strong. I am saying this to all current and to-be communities out there. Observe your members. Do not let everyone in that you think you might trust. Don't offer admin for cash. This is not how a community stays safe.
Despite this, I am glad to see an increase in REAL sandbox clans. You know, the ones that know not to smack, and are nice to others.

New mod in the works for BF2 (Not a Sandbox mod)
It started with a concept Skovy, Skinner and I thought of for the source engine. "Worldmod". The first source mod of it's kind. A free, open world sandbox game, similar to the likings of "Gran Theft Auto".
Soon though, we turned our attention to making a pretty good mod with the BF2 engine. First we thought of a Team Fortress mod (The BF series is in desperate need of one) but then we thought "No, something a little more challenging... A tactical game..."
And so, we are beginning work very soon for this unnamed project. I'm not saying if we went with the "BFTF" idea or not, but it's going to be good.

New ROFLbox announcements, TWO IN ONE!
The ROFLbox crew have recently posted two, rather intriguing, posts that you may find an interest in.
Firstly, the roflbox 0.5 public beta is up for download now.
Click here for the full post and download. PLEASE NOTE that the sandbox core is included as an attachment to the bottom of the post. IT IS REQUIRED TO USE THE ROFLBOX NETWORK!
That also reminds me! On the 24th of spetember, 2008, the Roflbox network was publicly announced of it's status:
UP AND RUNNING!
For all of the Rbox fans (who are pooping their pants with excitement), this is a glorious day. ROFLbox is now showing a promising future in the fast-growing world of sandbox mod mods. Please enjoy the following, triumphant post Gas made on the network's status;
"We are pleased to announce that the ROFLBox Network, along with it's partner website, is up and running! For those of you wondering what exactly the ROFLBox Network is, I'll tell you. The Network is an online creation saving and retrieval system, which enables anyone playing ROFLBox to save their creations and load them again later on any ROFLBox server running mod version 0.3 or higher. If you are familiar with saving groups on Sandbox, you won't have any trouble learning the new system. For simplicity, the chat commands to save and load groups are exactly the same.
Ingame Chat commands:
* @netsavegroup name - After you have a group selected, this command will tell the server to upload it to the network.
* @netloadgroup name - Will load a specific creation of yours from the Network for you to use on the server.
* @listgroups - Will list all creations you have saved on the Network. (handy incase you forget the name of a creation)
The Network doesn't end there, though. We have also created a web-based utility so players can manage their groups without being ingame. On the ROFLBox Network website, you can Delete or Rename creations, upload screenshots, share your creations with other players, and much more! To use the Rbx Network website, you have to be a registered member on the Death by Binary forums, which itself, is also a plus!
Server Owners: Curious how active your server is on the ROFLBox Network? There's also a utility to register your server on the Network to collect server-specific statistics on the performance of your server on the ROFLBox Network.
Check it out now if you have the chance! We've worked really hard lately to finish this project on time. I know I have put in dozens of hours and hundreds of lines of code into this, and am curious to know what everyone thinks. Your feedback is valuable, and will help us improve the system and add new features to it.

Moepbox preview #1
The lack of sandbox news lately has been very sad, but meh, there's more now!
A few days ago, Cpt. Wow posted this video. This is the first known public footage of moepbox. Since the video itself on the website has since been removed you must download it, which has been made smaller than the original version for a quick download. The link to it is located at the bottom for this page.
Here is what Wow posted with the preview:
"omglolnowai!
yes way. first preview is a beta version of the blue angels jet #1, a bunch of new features added:
engine sound
- (flaps lower, buttons and stuff being pushed, some other stuff happens, engines turn on)
cockpit ambiance
- (feels like you are in a jet)
dynamic head movement
- (obvious from watching the video)
improved afterburner performance and effects
- (fire effect only on afterburner ignition and smoke exhaust fumes and stuff)
better handling
- (for blue angels air shows Nodding)
stalls
- (working on making you lose control if you slow down)
Smoke launchers
- (red-green-blue-white-black) - not in the video as it is still too early in its development
ground+water effects from engine
- (like helicopters)
some other things...
- (moep)"
